Mezzanine floors, Liverpool.
MSR fabricates the steelwork for mezzanine floors in Liverpool and across the North West: columns, beams, stairs and handrail for warehouses, industrial units, shops and offices. It’s all made in our two factories in Bootle and installed by our own team.
A mezzanine is the quickest way to add floor space without moving premises, and the steel has to fit a building that’s already there. We work from your structural engineer’s design, check column positions and the slab on site, and fabricate everything to fit first time. That includes the stair and edge protection, so there’s one supplier for the whole floor.
Most of our mezzanine work comes from the distribution and industrial sites along the M6, M56 and M62 around Warrington, Wigan and Widnes. Those include mezzanines added to buildings that stay in use while we install, and platform steel tied into working process plant. We’ve been fabricating structural steel since 1987, from the same part of Bootle.

FAQ
Mezzanine Floors: common questions.
Do I need permission for a mezzanine floor?
A mezzanine inside an existing building doesn't usually need planning permission, but it normally needs Building Regulations approval, which covers structure, fire safety and escape. Check with your local authority's building control early. We fabricate to the approved design.
Can you work from my engineer's design?
Yes. Send us the engineer's GA and calculations and we'll price the steel, fabricate to the drawings and plan the installation around your building.
Can you install while our warehouse stays open?
Usually, yes. We plan deliveries and erection around your operation, the same way we work on operating process sites around Widnes and Runcorn, so the rest of the building keeps working.
Do you supply the stairs and handrail for the mezzanine?
Yes. We make the access stairs, edge handrail and kick plates in the same works as the floor steel, so the whole package comes from one fabricator.
