Steel canopies, Liverpool.
MSR designs, fabricates and erects steel canopies in Liverpool, the Wirral and across the North West. We build entrance canopies, large-span canopies over leisure bays and car parks, platform canopies for stations, and curved feature canopies. All of it is made in our two factories in Bootle and erected by our own crews.
A canopy is structural steel that people see, so it has to carry wind and roof loads and still look clean from below. We fabricate the frame to the design, finish it for outdoor exposure, and plan the erection around crane access and the site’s working hours.
At Moreton Hills Golf Range on the Wirral we took the full canopy over the driving-range bays from a green-field site to crane erection. At Hunt’s Cross station we fabricated and fitted a platform canopy into a Grade II listed station that stayed open. Around Liverpool we’ve built bespoke canopies for venues including BOHO.

FAQ
Steel Canopies: common questions.
Can you design the canopy as well as build it?
Yes. At Moreton Hills Golf Range on the Wirral we designed, fabricated and erected the whole canopy over the driving-range bays, starting from a green-field site. We also build to your architect's or engineer's design.
Do you erect canopies on site?
Yes. Our own directly employed crews erect the steel, with a mobile crane where the span calls for it, so the same company is responsible from the factory to the final bolt.
What finish should an outdoor canopy have?
For most outdoor canopies we recommend hot-dip galvanising, with or without a paint finish on top, especially near the coast or the Mersey. We'll advise on the right finish for your site.
Can you make curved canopies?
Yes. We roll and form plate and sections in our own works, which is how we produce curved architectural canopies and feature steelwork.
